Update...

We hope that you have begun attending some of our meetings. So far we think that this year is going well, thank you for your enthusiasm.
It is exciting to see God working in people's lives.

If you can sing, play an instrument, make a loud noise or just really want to get involved in something ... come to the worship practice on Tuesdays at lunch in Richard Ward 4 or 5.. We would love to see you there!

There is a soup kitchen that happens at 11am on Tuesdays at Holy Trinity Church (just beyond the Wits Theatre complex), if you would like to get involved just go down there and check it out.

If you are interested in visiting hospitals come to our Thursday meeting (Richard Ward 4, 1.15) and chat to Robin.

We have had one social so far this year - a picnic - which was fun and relaxing. We have our next activity planned for the 20th of March... please keep this date free, we would like to meet more of you so we hope that you will be there!

See you soon

SCO Outreach

If anyone is interested in getting involved with outreach, then please speak to Richard or e-mail SCO.

The Wits mission is now going strongly. This will be a large scale Christian outreach on campus with all Christian societies being invited to attend and is being facilitated by African Enterprise. If you have any way of assisting with this mission in terms of time, organising, prayer, printing, transport, sound equipment etc., please let us know at SCO or e-mail us. This is a mission that will be reaching thousands of students with a well planned, organised, powerful and spirit-filled project.

On Wednesday nights there is a project called Paballo Ya Batho that we invite everyone to get involved with. It assists the homeless in central Johannesburg by providing soup, bread, medical care and much more from mobile units. It is a chance to build relationships, and reach out to, those in need. Meet at 18h15 at the Wits Medical School parking lots. It usually finishes around 22h00. It is truly an eye opening and heart touching experience, while being very safe.

On Saturday the 17th of February there will be an outreach to Walkerville to work with an underprivileged school. It will be a day of playing with and helping out children in need. E-mail scowits@gmail.com for more info.

Wits Mission 2007

An exciting event has entered its beginning stages. SCO, working alongside African Enterprise and all the Christian Societies at Wits have started planning a large mission on Wits campus for 2007. It will takes months of preparation which will culminate in a week of events such as top speakers, music, prayer, outreach and evangelism. Please assist us in making this all possible. Start praying about this now and also pass on this information to anybody who might be interested in helping. The name of our Lord Jesus Christ is going to be lifted high on campus in 2007.

Rhodes University has a similar mission. For information on how this went, click here, so that you can see what we are in store for.
